If you live in the north someplace where there's snow, bundle yourself up and take a bike ride on the first sunny day of spring, preferably before the snow melts. If you have a favorite route, you might be surprised at how different it looks.
First of all, with no leaves on the trees, so much more is visible from the road. Second, the contrast of the green pines and hemlocks and the brown deciduous trees against the brilliant sun-drenched white snow makes for some spectacular views. Then, you peer down a steep bank to a creek swollen with clear snow melt sparkling in the sun and you KNOW why you choose to live right where you are. It all looks so much different than it does in the summer.
Dress warm, watch out for the potholes, ignore the dirty snow within 10 feet of the side of the road and go ride. I'm sure you'll love the experience!! Enjoy...
